I mean look, our love of free things isn’t exactly a secret. And our genuine admiration for all things green (and the consequent struggle to keep said things alive) is also well-known. So when we found out that the legends over at the Inner West Council (#InnerWestForLyfe) are giving away free trees, let’s just say it’s no real surprise that we’re all over this one.

For one glorious day you’ll want to make a beeline for Marrickville and score a free tree for yourself. Coinciding with National Tree Day, this is your chance to take home a Lilly Pilly, or a Banksia (just to name a few), but the best part is—they’ve done the hard work for you. The trees here are all nice and mature, so consider bringing some decent sized bags and pots (25 litres and 30mm respectively) to take your new friends home in.

Head here for all the deets and keep your council guidelines in mind when it comes to your new found friend.
