Crossing The Border | A Foodie’s Guide To Dining In Kingscliff

The coastal town of Kingscliff, a bit further than the Gold Coast from Brisbane, but not as far Byron Bay (seriously, this is a huge selling point), seems to combine the best of both its neighbours.

Boasting the beauty of the Gold Coast’s pristine beaches and the coolness of Byron’s bars and eateries, Kinsgcliff has come into its own as a must-visit beach destination.

From awesome markets, killer Greek food, and Insta-worthy fields of sunflowers, here are six epic spots you’ll want to check out next time you’re in Kingscliff.

#1. Bombay Cricketers Club

Located in Kingscliff’s hip Salt Village, Bombay Cricketer’s Club takes Indian to a whole other level. Featuring fragrant dhal, green spicy sambal and fresh trevally wrapped in banana leaves, you’ll want to get there more than once.

#2. Taverna

Chic Greek-inspired Taverna is not only super gorgeous (think white washed walls and stunning natural light) but with mouth-watering options like charred octopus, honey-drizzled halloumi and vegan moussaka, it’s no wonder it’s the talk of the coast.

#3. The Salt Mill

Marine Parade cool kid, The Salt Mill, is a pocket-sized café on the southern end of Kingscliff. Turning out epic Allpress coffee, smoothies and acai bowls with a view of the waves, it’s the chill brunch spot you need in your weekend.

#4. Farm & Co

Have you seen numerous Insta photos of people frolicking through amazing fields of sunflowers lately? Chances are they were at Farm & Co Kingscliff. Along with providing one of the best Insta backdrops out there, Farm & Co is also worth a visit for their super fresh fruit and veggies and their beautiful on-farm accommodation.

#5. Kingscliff Beachside Markets

If you can time your visit with the fab Kingscliff Beachside Markets (held in Jack Bayliss Park every second and fourth Saturday of the month) you should! There’s local organic produce, locally designed swim wear, all the coffee, great community vibes and more.

#6. Cubby Bakehouse

It’s not here just yet, but very coming soon is Cubby Bakehouse: a new bakery from the team behind Bam Bam and Paddock Bakery on the Gold Coast. Cubby is said to be all about championing the humble baguette and if it’s as delicious as any of their other venues, we’ll be there with bells on.
