It’s not unusual for massive events like the Grammys to showcase and preview trailers for the first time (this time last week, the Super Bowl dropped a teaser of season three of The Handmaid’s Tale) and this time around, a new trailer for Disney's live-action remake Aladdin donned screens at the mammoth award ceremony.
It's been a good 27-years after the 90s Aladdin debuted in the filming era known as the "Disney Renaissance" with the famous and late Robin Williams as the comical genie. The new trailer gives us an insight into the genie's new persona, manifested by Will Smith. He's big, blue and full of personality but his on-screen antics are only short-lived.
Along with a sneak-peak at the genie, we also get a look at Jafar, the villain of Aladdin played by Marwen Kenzari, Princess Jasmine, played by Naomi Scott and of course, the city of Agrabah. Check out the new trailer below.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, Aladdin is set for an official release date of May 24 2019.
And here's every movie to watch on Netflix right now.
