It’s time to bust out the snags and relax poolside because Australia Day has rolled around once more. This weekend is bringing us much more than just the average barbecues and hottest 100 parties, with special events popping off all around Brisbane. 

Check out all the very best spots to kick off the decade with a memorable Australia Day.

Aussie Beer Festival

If you want to celebrate Australia Day the Bavarian way, head to Munich Brauhaus. They will be hosting an Aussie Beer Fest throughout the entire long weekend, packed full of games, competitions, food, and of course, plenty of Aussie beers. Expect live tunes, crossover Aussie/Bavarian favourites like classic schnitzels, and oh-so-many keg taps.

Australia Day Long Weekend at El Camino

Another beloved dining institution bringing us a unique cultural mish-mash this Australia Day is El Camino. Swap out your snags for strawberry margaritas garnished with Zooper Doopers and ditch the boring old meat pie for a meat pie taco. They will be open all weekend long, pumping out the Hottest 100 on Saturday.

If Australia Day to you means brews and brewery vibes, Sea Legs Brewing Company has you covered. This weekend they will be serving up all their best creations on tap alongside beers, pizzas and more. Don’t miss Saturday’s hottest 100 beers as you count down the corresponding tunes of 2019.

Australia Day Long Weekend at Treasury Brisbane

For those who missed it, Treasury Brisbane has just added a brand-spanking-new sports bar to their collection of Brissy hotspots, and it’s open all weekend. Celebrate Australia day with Daryl Braithwaite along with plenty of other performers over the weekend, including DJ Havana Brown.

Hottest 100 Listening Party

We all know that this year, Saturday is the day to catch Triple J’s Hottest 100, and what better place to listen to than at the Hottest 100 Listening Party? Welcome To Bowen Hills will be hosting deals during the countdown’s different phases, so stop by, grab a beer from their karma keg to raise funds for bushfire relief, and enjoy the tunes that ended a decade.

Hottest 100 Backyard Party

Ginuary 2020 | Hottest Gins of 2019

Every year Covent Garden counts down the hottest 100 Aussie gins, and 2020 is no different. Book tickets for full access to four gin degustation stations and graze on canapes throughout the day, or take the hottest 100 gins package and sip on the 100 gin winners all Saturday long.

If you’re after a relaxed vibe this Australia Day, enjoy a delicious feed at Emporium Hotel’s The Terrace. They will be serving up patriotic favourites such as lamb and pavlova at pop-up stations alongside five of Australia’s best gins and beers. You’ll also enjoy live vocals from Zeek, a DJ, and fireworks to top the night off.

Posh Sausage Sizzle

You might prefer Stokehouse Q's posh sausage sizzle then. Executive Chef, Ollie Hansford has created a selection of ‘posh sausages’ like lobster and scallop sausages with pimped tartare, chicken, rosemary and truffle sausages with sticky shallots, and wagyu sausages with caviar dressing. There'll even be Balter beer matchings to down them with.
