things to do in sydney july

It’s official, we’ve passed the mid-year mark and winter is almost over. Okay, well, not quite, but who’s counting? Regardless, it’s time to pull yourself out from hibernation and embrace what this cold weather has to offer.

With the next few weeks packed full of events, it’s time to ditch those friends who insist on not leaving the house during the colder months, because there’s still plenty of eating and drinking to be had. So if you’re looking for things to do in Sydney this July, we’ve got your calendar sorted.

Celebrate Winter In A Winter Wonderland With Munich Brauhaus

We know ice skating can have you working up a sweat, so quench your thirst with a beer at the Munich Brauhaus pop-up bar located (conveniently) next to the ice skating rink at the Sydney Winter Festival, starting on June 30th. If you’re more the indoorsy type (and we don’t blame you with the prediction of snow about) Jägermeister are hosting winter chalet parties every Friday in July at Munich Brauhaus, where the bar will be transformed to into an alpine chalet and haus DJs bring the winter vibe to the D-floor. Really want to heat things up? Try the new winter spiced Jägermeister shots!

Sydney Winter Festival runs from June 30th - July 17th at St Mary’s Cathedral, CBD.

Capping at only 200 competitors, the race is a unique and exclusive event and the perfect way to raise funds for two Sydney based charities, A Start in Life and Ozharverst. Skip Staying Sober And Enjoy A Month Of Whiskey

The Glenmore Hotel gets our love affair with whiskey and the month commonly dubbed as the ‘sober one’ (ahem, dry July), is no longer a reason to lock yourself indoors so you can finish countless episodes of Suits (although we wouldn’t really be judging if you did). The Rye July series will be warming your cockles for the second year in a row, with a special whiskey menu so you can celebrate whiskey for the entire month. And, if it’s sophistication you desire for being a loyal whiskey drinker, the Night of Whiskies on Thursday the 14th of July brings whiskey tastings, cocktail masterclasses and canapes to the middle floor of The Glenmore where you can up your Harvey Spector ante, and really get to know the spirit you’ve grown to love.
Rye July runs from Friday, 1st July – Sunday, 31st July.

Luxury champagne teams with Japanese dining—it pretty much doesn’t get any better. Veuve Clicquot and Sake Restaurant & Bar are coming together this July for an exclusive five-course dinner, paired with the finest of fine drops. The dinner will be hosted by Veuve Clicquot’s very own fine wine specialist, MJ Van Vuuren who will take guests on a champagne journey (need we say more?) through its heritage and history while helping diners gain vital knowledge on how to pair their food with wine. The menu includes dishes like wagyu oyster blade and apple tart soufflé with buckwheat ice cream and salted caramel, so like you need any more convincing, secure your place to enjoy this fine culinary experience.
