While it may not feel like it, this weekend is pretty much the halfway point for winter, and we’re pretty damn happy to be getting over that hurdle. Look ahead to the sunnier days, but don’t leave Sydney restaurants out in the cold, these Sydney restaurants are open all weekend for you to warm your toes.

La Puerta

Neutral Bay

The guys at La Puerta have definitely succeeded in bringing the best of South America to Sydney. We’re all about the tapas style share menu that they have going on and the updated winter dishes actually make us want to leave the house. The chanchito salad, with crispy pork skin, sweet figs and pomegranate dressing on a red vein sorrel salad will make you rethink salads and you’ll be wanting this one all to yourself!

O Bar & Dining

CBD

Sitting in the centre of the CBD, looking over everything from the monstrosity that is the UTS Tower to the iconic landmarks in Circular Quay, O Bar & Dining is not just for the tourists. Start with a glass of bubbles or a cocktail while you peruse the menu, which includes glazed king salmon to start and hot coconut and spiced pineapple soufflé to end. We’ll let the mains surprise you, but we can promise they’re good.

The Unicorn Bistro

Paddington

The bistro in The Unicorn Hotel in Paddington is the new addition to this local fave. Thanks to the guys behind Porteno, Mary’s and Young Henry’s, the menu guarantees to deliver all your fave Aussie pub classics, with none of those fancy sides that you can’t pronounce. Start off with some Jatz and French onion dip to get you in the mood (we’re not joking) and with Mary’s burgers on the menu... you might want to make a date to get there this weekend.

Thievery

Glebe

Thievery has quickly become of Sydney’s best Lebanese restaurants, and for good reason. They recently popped up at Sweet Street with a glorious dessert creation—a chocolate baklabar. It’s basically everything you love about chocolate bars, and everything you love about baklava, rolled together to make the best dessert ever. Get there this weekend to sample it before it goes off menu.

Daisy’s Milkbar

Petersham

We know those cold winter nights have you more inclined for Netflix and chill, but to start your day off right at least at Daisy’s Milkbar—the perfect place to pick up breakfast, brunch or lunch. With the 50’s styling and childhood faves, spiders and cordial, this is the best spot for a #throwback gram. The lemon butter pancakes are the perfect mix of sweet and sour and we love the milkshake specials (right now it’s caramelised banana and custard). The selection of homemade cakes and cookies are perfect to take home for later (if you can stop yourself eating them in the car home).

Acre Eatery

Camperdown

In the middle of Camperdown, the last thing you’ll expect to find is a restaurant where much of the produce comes from the on site farm, but that's exactly what you’re going to get from Acre Eatery. Every dish here is a winner, but we can’t go past the lamb shank and farro pie and the wonderfully juicy roast chicken. Oh, and save space for the apple and cinnamon pie with boysenberry ice cream. It’s like a delicious hug.
