The origin of "Happy Hour" comes from the acknowledgement that as soon as people leave work and get themselves a drink for a reasonable price, they feel nothing but pure happiness. We may have made this up, but we think you can all agree with us… Here are the best bars in Sydney to get amongst the mass happiness.

Small Bar Erskine Street

Erskine Street

If you like your drinks fresh and fruity, then make your way down to Small Bar on Erskine Street for fresh fruit juice cocktails for only $12, and $5 house beer and wine every day from 5pm. There are always specials to tempt you on the blackboards too, so go visit and check out what’s on offer at this small Sydney bar.

Yayoi

Bridge Street

They may be psychic over at Yayoi, otherwise how would they know how much we love beer and oysters? Their happy hour runs from 5pm-6:30pm and involves $4 Asahi and oysters. Say no more!

The Argyle

Argyle Street

The good folks at The Argyle are keeping us very well hydrated every night of the week, offering $5 drinks every night from 5-7pm, including spirits, wine, sparkling and beer. The perfect place to wind down after a long day of being a legend.

El Loco at Slip Inn

Sussex Street

Loco Hour at El Loco Slip Inn means $5 drinks every Friday from 5-7pm. Throw in a line up of DJs and plenty of delicious food specials to make your mouth water and you (and your wallet) will be happily yelling arrrrrrriba!

Establishment

George Street

Just going to Establishment makes you feel fancy and grown up, but that feeling gets even greater by the time Thursday rolls around. Between 6 and 7pm, you can enjoy complimentary sparkling and canapés on arrival, with live entertainment and DJs keeping you going until late. That kind of sophistication (and alcohol consumption) is sure to put a sparkle in your eye.

Li'l Darlin Surry Hills

Elizabeth Street

If you’ve got a big night in your sights, Li'l Darlin, just outside the CBD, is well worth a visit. Their happy hour starts when the sun has well and truly set, starting at 10pm every Friday and Saturday night until the whole place closes.

The Morrison

George Street

The Morrison is a mecca for after-work drinks and debauchery. They are serving up $5 drinks every night from 5-7pm as well as $10 cocktail jugs all day, every day! How is this Sydney bar not already your favourite hang out?

The Push

George Street

The Push in The Rocks is one of those bars so steeped in history and with so much character you feel like a local as soon as you walk in. Thursday nights are the best night to check out The Push, with all of their signature cocktails only $12 from 5-8pm. It’s like they’re almost forcing us to try them all!
