If you’re anything like us, you love to look good, but you love sleep more! So we’ve put together the ultimate time-saving tips that’ll be your hairway to heaven!
General Styling Tips
The Lazy Girl’s Must-Have
Obviously dry shampoo is a must! If you don’t have time to wash your hair, dry shampoo will give you at least one extra day between washes. If you’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel, you can always use the ol’ talcum powder instead, but don’t over do it!
The Hairdresser’s Lie
Don’t let your hairdresser tell you short hair is low maintenance. It’s a trap! Short hair means way more styling in the morning and you can’t just chuck it up into a bun or ponytail!
Nothing to See Here
If your roots are starting to raise their ugly heads and you don’t have the time (or the cash) to go to the hairdressers, try mascara or dark eye shadow to cover them up. Don’t believe us? Try it!
Back to Basics
If you dye your hair, consider letting the colour grow out for real low maintenance hair. But if can’t let the dye go just yet, then try a colour as close to your natural hair as possible. This’ll cut down on root touch ups and time combating fading.
Meet your new BFF, Mousse
If you’ve woken up looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo and you need to be out the door in 15 minutes for your 9am meeting with the boss, then grab the mousse (a lot of it) and blow dry your hair upside down with a roll brush.
Avoid the Mullet
Super short hairstyles (think pixie) require trims every six to eight weeks to avoid the dreaded mullet that has haunted many of us. But that’s just way too much effort for us low maintenance gals, so ask your hairdresser to take the back up shorter than they normally would when you first get the big chop.
Short Hair Regret
Don’t spend months longing after your luscious locks - invest in some clip-in hair extensions! As long as you’re not taking styling tips from Jersey or Geordie Shore, clip-in extensions can be a quick and easy way to boost volume and glam up that short cut you may or may not be regretting. Just clip the hair extensions in place, give them a quick sprucing and you’ll be good to go!
Style While You Snooze
Yep, it’s that easy! Wash your hair before bed then towel-dry and smooth it in a light mousse or gel. Roll your hair into two buns, secure with elastics and vuala, you’ll wake up with amazing, Blake Lively waves!
Less is More
It’ll seem like a good idea at the time and sure, it’ll look great when you leave the hairdressers, but a week later you’ll just be stuck with whispy bits and that one section at the front that won’t fit into the pony.
An oldy, but a goodie - when in doubt, just slick your hair back into a bun or pony. Lucky for us, the ponytail has made a comeback, so give it a tease at the roots for some volume, grab your fav elastic and you’re ready to face the day!
