Big, big news, Sydney. If you’ve always wanted to watch your favourite films with your favourite people, your big movie buff dreams are about to come true.
While Surry Hills’ Golden Age Cinema has already dabbled in takeaway and delivery options for all you foodies out there (which looks like a Wes Anderson-themed bottlo with natural wine packs and Messina choc-tops), in light of recent government updates, this art deco theatre will now be taking bookings for private film screenings.
The screenings will be taking place from Wednesdays through to Sundays, 2pm -11pm (and these will, of course, kick off on June 1). You’ll be able to cop private film screenings for up to three hours, which involves the use of the cinema if you’ve got a crew of 10 people. Drinks, food and snacks will be available from the iconic Golden Age Bar and the cinema will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each session (to put your mind at ease).
All you have to do is choose the movie you’re keen to watch (send in your preferred date and what kind of film you’re after), select your food and drinks (or set up a tab) and then just turn up on the day and sit back, relax and enjoy. Tickets are sitting at $125 per person and this includes a $75 per person bar credit, film licensing and programming fee, glassware and cleaning.
