A Japanese Gin-Themed Sensory Pop Up Is Coming To Sydney For One Weekend Only

Gin lovers, listen up, there’s a Japanese gin-themed sensory pop up coming to Sydney this month and you’re going to want to be there.

Brought to you by The House Of Suntory, The Spirit Of Roku is a fully-immersive, sensory experience which highlights the six botanicals that go into making the Japanese crafted Roku Gin—aka one of the best gins we’ve ever tasted.

Centred around Japan’s changing seasons, your senses will come alive with the smell of yuzu, flavours of green tea and the beauty of the sakura flower, among other things. What does that all mean? You’ll get to taste some freakin’ delicious gin, as well as see and smell the beautiful botanicals that go into making it.

From sipping on green tea and tasting traditional yakitori seasoned with sansho pepper to enjoying a yuzu "bath" and a picnic under a cherry blossom tree, each session begins and ends with a taste of Roku's signature gin and tonic with fresh ginger. Served omotenashi—aka the traditional Japanese way—you'll also leave with a gift bag. Who needs to travel to Japan when it's coming to Sydney for one weekend only?!

Distilled by The House Of Suntory, this brand new gin is available in most bottle shops and select bars across Australia.
