best summer bars in sydney

Salt and caramel, avocado and toast, summertime and rosé … some things just make life better when they’re together. Corks at the ready ladies and gents, our favourite season is finally here and our wine glasses are ready for the filling! Read on for our list of the very best bars in Sydney to get in the pink this summer.

North Bondi Fish

The team behind North Bondi Fish take their rosé seriously, with 18 varietals to choose from including options by the carafe and by the glass. Feeling flash? Settle in on the sun soaked veranda and indulge in a magnum of 2014 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose as you take in sweeping views of Bondi Beach. Now that’s what we call summer.

Opera Bar

Circular Quay

You might have to battle for a spot at this ever-popular Sydney bar, but it’ll be worth it. For a quintessential slice of Sydney over a glass or three of rosé, there’s arguably nowhere better than Opera Bar. If you like your pinks on the sweeter side, opt for the in-house Opera Bar Rosé from Orange, or for something a little dryer there’s the delicious Le Saint Andrall all the way from France.

The Bucket List

Every day feels like a summertime fiesta at The Bucket List. The good vibes flow freely at this buzzing beachfront venue, where you’re practically guaranteed a laid back crowd who just wanna have fun. Heck, even their wines sound like a party—crack open a bottle of Pink Flamingo and enjoy the ride!

The Boathouse Palm Beach

Palm Beach

Sometimes you need a little respite from the madness of the city, and where better to escape to than the gorgeous northern beachside suburb of Palm Beach? Just an hour’s drive from Sydney, The Boathouse at Palm Beach is the perfect spot to wind down. Let your worries melt away with a chilled bottle of blush out on the timber decking overlooking Station Beach. Pure. Bliss.

Manly Wine

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside, and when the one in question just happens to be as pretty as Manly, well…we like it even more! Overlooking the beach, Manly Wine ticks all the boxes for an afternoon of long, slow and steady sipping in the sunshine. The wine list here has something for everyone, but when the sun is shining, you can’t go past their standout selection of Australian rosés.

Coogee Pavilion

When it comes to rooftop bars, Coogee Pavilion is a jewel in Sydney’s crown. Whether you’re rolling in straight off the beach or dressed up to the nines, the only thing you need concern yourself with as you soak up the rays is that there’s a cold glass of rosé close to hand. Be warned—their Domaine Alzitella is dangerously moreish.

Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

Watsons Bay

It’s on those long, lazy summer afternoons that the sweeping harbour views from Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel really come into their own, so kick back and let the rosé flow as you take it all in from a spot at the Beach Club. Pair their range of Australian pinks with the hotel’s famous chilled seafood platter for a true Sydney summertime experience.

Woolwich Pier Hotel

The award winning Woolwich Pier Hotel is widely recognised as one of Sydney’s most stunning harbourside watering holes, and so where better to while away a day sipping on the good stuff? There’s a fantastic selection of wines to choose from, but any blush lover worth their grape shouldn’t go past the delicious Robert Oatley Chateau Du Sour.

Still on the vino? Make your next drop one of these summer wines.
