If you have ten bucks, you are rich with dining options that will save you from hitting up the closest drive-thru and settling for sad fast food. If you know where to look, Brisbane/Meanjin has some impossibly fine feeds for any penny pincher—and we're not just talking about a bowl of chips. 

From slurpable bowls of ramen to hanger-busting yiros wraps, we’ve compiled the ultimate list of cheap eats in Brisbane that will make the wait until payday just that little bit easier.

Hai Hai Ramen

102 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington 

An early week bargain to help cure those Monday (and Tuesday) blues, Paddington’s Hai Hai Ramen dishes up $10 bowls of ramen every Monday and Tuesday between 5pm and 6pm. That’s right, a massive bowl of slurpable ramen for just a tenner (so you'll have spare cash to splash on their irresistible miso corn).

The Bagel Boys

Whether you’re rushing to work in the morning or trying to keep up on that saving rather than spending spree, The Bagel Boys has you and your wallet covered. Serving up a whole heap of tasty bargain bagels that will cost you no more than $9.50, The Bagel Boys is the perfect grab-and-go lunch option that will be sure to become your new regular spot. 

Banh Mi Factory

Regarded by many as the best banh in town, Banh Mi Factory's fresh, fluffy rolls packed with tasty ingredients come in at an easy $9.90. Choose from char-grilled chicken, pork, beef (or a mix) or tofu to pair with the house-made mayo and pate, pickled carrots, crispy cucumbers and fresh coriander (and don't forget the fresh chilli).

Remy’s

If there's one thing we love, it's options. Remy’s has you covered, with $6 cheesys available between 5pm and 6pm from Monday to Thursday. That's a $6 cheeseburger for anyone unaware. It's the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a mouthwatering cheeseburger without emptying your wallet.

Bloodhound Bar

Maybe you missed wing Wednesday. No problem, Bloodhound Bar in the Valley has you covered. Fridays are wild wing Fridays where you can nab 10 wings for $10 with a drink purchase from 4pm. They also do tricky taco Tuesdays with three of the suckers for $10 all day long. You can't go wrong.

If you’re looking for a healthy alternative that’s not just spinach leaves, cucumbers and few cherry tomatoes, you can never go wrong with the delicious and nourishing vegetarian food on offer at Govinda’s. For just $11, grab yourself a plate piled up with jasmine rice and your choice of veggie curry, dahl or insane koftas with herby chutney, or make it $13 and you can choose two... if you know you know.

This boutique takeaway joint is dishing up uber creative salads that will make you never want to eat the plain garden or caesar variety ever again. Botanica’s five locations have every side of Brisbane covered, so you can enjoy their fresh, flavoursome salads from any part of town. For just $15 you can pack in up to three unique salad flavours that are on a regular rotation, including vegan, nut-free and gluten-free options. 

Fritzenberger

They do frites, they do beers, and they most definitely do burgers. Fritzenberger is starting the week right with specials Monday through Wednesday. First up they are dishing up $12 burgers on Mondays, with the burger love continuing on Tuesdays with two-for-one burgers. And if you're craving some wings as a midweek treat, Wednesdays are your day with $1 wings available with any full-price item. That's how you kickstart your week in style.

The Bavarian

Looking for double the deliciousness without doubling your spending? At The Bavarian, Tuesday is two-for-one schnitty night, so grab a friend or a partner to double up on some schnitzel goodness. But that’s not all—every Monday they dish up 20-cent wings all day long. 20. Freaking. Cents. There’s a 10-wing maximum (that’s just $2 people) and you will have to order a drink to get the deal, but frankly, you can probably still manage to get the lot for under $10.

Bird's Nest is offering some epic deals to brighten up the weekday lunch rush. For just $15, dive into their rice bowl specials featuring options like succulent teriyaki chicken, crispy karaage chicken, charcoal-grilled veggies, slow-braised pork, or brisket all served on a bed of fresh, warm rice. Fluffy bao buns are also on the agenda for just $12, with all these lunch specials served with a bowl of miso soup. Suddenly, the week is looking up.

Winghaus

Claw

When that craving for all-American Southern flavours hits, Claw is the place to be. From 5pm on Wednesdays they’re dishing up ½ price Parmis – accompanied with Claw’s signature salsa, pepper jack cheese, crispy fries and coleslaw. For just $13, that’s a lot of bang for your buck. Plus, Thursdays is 2-for-1 burger night, with their loaded buns giving us all the patriotic feels. Unless you're there before 5pm, you will need to order them takeaway, but they make the perfect lunch or very early dinner (which we're not against) and come in a variety of classic flavours.
