Guys, it’s Christmas this week, which means Santa is (almost!) on his way and festive events aplenty are popping up all over Brisbane this week! Brisbane has really gotten into the festive spirit this year and, so that you can slide right in to holiday mode we’ve picked our favourite festive events in Brisbane, so all you’ve got to do is gather the squad and hop in the car (or sleigh, if you’re really into authenticity).

Here's what's on in Brisbane this Christmas week.

South Bank Christmas Markets

Didn't get your Christmas shopping done last weekend? Thankfully South Bank Markets have come to the rescue, putting on their famed Christmas markets one last time this Friday! Decorated with fairy lights galore and white tents featuring festive borders, there's everything from traditional Christmas gifts to freshly baked goodies, perfect for last minute gift hunting.

Australia’s Biggest Gingerbread House

While this one’s not exactly an event, it is a worthy stop on any Christmas outing list; Rydges South Bank is bringing to Brisbane the biggest gingerbread house in Australia. Crafted by their expert pastry team, this three-metre high gingerbread cottage is composed of 170 kilograms of dough and 100 kilograms of icing sugar, and is basically our dream house. Seriously, it looks like it walked straight out of a festive fairy-tale. Dibs on the crunchy corners!

Where: Rydges South Bank, 9 Glenelg Street, Brisbane.

Christmas Beach Cinema

Don’t miss all your favourite festive movies showing at Streets Beach this festive season. Showing movies daily over the holidays, settle in on a beach towel with your fave people, and bring your swimmers so you can take a dip after the film.

When: Daily until December 24th
Where: Streets Beach, Sout Bank

Darren Hanlon Christmas Tour 2016

Aussie urban folk singer Darren Hanlon will be appearing at the Old Museum as part of his annual Christmas tour, now in its 11th year! Hanlon will perform solo and without a set list, giving him complete creative freedom over the festive evening. Christmas jams in the surrounds of the historic Old museum, what could get better than that?

Carols In The Park

West Mitchelton RLF Club is hosting their annual Carols In The Park again for 2016. Rumour has it that Santa might even make an appearance, but you didn’t hear it from us...
