We’ve got big news to share: The 2016 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix has descended on Melbourne, and this year they have a brand new precinct! Introducing M-Lane: bringing Melbourne’s laneway vibe to Albert Park with top food trucks, street artists and some of the best restaurants in Melbourne.

Let’s face it, Melburnians love food and sport, and this is a one-time only pop-up experience at Australia’s biggest sporting event—with some of the best things to do this autumn (or like, this year).

Headlining street artists will include Smug, Guido Van Helten and Adnate (PS non-artsy Aussies, you’ve seen their work we guarantee)—and artworks will be fitted to double stacked, 20-foot shipping containers that loom over visitors.

But let’s get down to what you came here for: the foodie business! Four-wheeled food truck giants like St Kilda Burger Bar, Those Guys Food, Sliders On Tyres, Mary And A Little Lamb and Nem N’ Nem will be rolling into M-Lane over two days for what we expect will be a one-of-a-kind street food emporium.

Renowned head-chefs Shane Delia (of Maha) and Matt McConnell (of Bar Lourinha) will join forces with Scott Pickett (of Estelle Bistro) to offer a selection of some of the best dishes Australia will see this year. Serving the best of the best in pop-up style restaurants at M-Lane, this is a must for any self-respecting foodie.

But where are the #dranks, you may question (rather worriedly)? Well, don’t worry: the #AusGP team have your back like a 6 second pitstop crew. As part of M-Lane, Petaluma will be hosting a pop-up wine bar.

If that’s not enough to impress you (tough crowd, but we expect no less), Yo Mafia and APAX will be DJing to set the scene. Aerial displays by the Royal Australian Air Force, complete with Roulettes and F/A-18 Jets (and if you don’t know what they are prepare to be seriously impressed), are set to fly throughout the event topped off on Sunday by a low flyover of a monstering Boeing C-17 Globemaster.

Tickets to this once a year food/wine/beer/music/art event aren’t likely to stick around for long, so head to the website (like a  F1 racecar around a tight corner HA!) to book yours now. F1® Park After Dark tickets start from $25* on Thursday and Friday from 4-8pm.

M-Lane will be at the 2016 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix, Albert Park from 17-20 March, 2016. For bookings and more information visit www.grandprix.com.au. *terms and conditions apply
