To aquaint you with Brisbane's new dining hub, here's our picks of King Street.
The George Bar and Bistro
This well established Eagle Street fixture has branched out to Fortitude Valley! Come in to The George for a classic eggs benny or kick back with your friends on a Friday night with cracking tapas at their boutique beer and wine bar. We're drooling over crowd-pleasing share boards—slow roasted lamb shoulder and your own selection of sides, no less.
GG Espresso may technically be a part of The George Bar and Bistro, but it’s worth its own trip just for the smooth, smooth caffeine. You can also find a selection of delicious breakfasts and sweet treats—sneaky afternoon snack, anyone?
Fans of the Fortitude Valley fave, Fat Dumpling will delight in King Street’s new Asian destination. They have opened shop on King Street with a more spacious feel, allowing you to devour your feast in surroundings inspired by ancient China and the art of the finicky-but-delicious dumpling. Stay for dessert to try (read: inhale) the sweet peach spring rolls and vanilla bean ice-cream.
We cannot WAIT to head into Il Verde! This Italian food heaven is the latest venture from the crew behind The Defiant Duck and Brisbane icon Gino's, and Il Verde promises to be futuristically flavoursome, in keeping with King Street’s themes of freshness and sustainability. Keep an eye out for the grand opening, expected mid-September.
