Did We Just Find The Best Sunday Session in Brisbane?

By Jessica Pridmore - 27 Jan 2015

Here at TUL we don’t let a looming Monday morning spoil our fun, and on a scorcher of a Brisbane weekend, with the sun shining and some cracker company, you really can’t go past a cheeky weekend sesh at your favourite watering hole.

The best bars in Brisbane know that offering up cheap tinnies and packets of chips isn’t going to cut it these days—especially when something as important as our social lives are at stake—and consequently are setting a new precedence when it comes to decent weekend drinks.

Tucked away from the chaos of Fortitude Valley on the leafy end of James Street, Bitter Suite is the local haunt for practically every resident in the area, and is a hive of activity and merriment  every day of the week. . Have they spiked the proverbial water cooler, we hear you ask?

Well, maybe… Bitter Suite is well known for their in-house, freshly made produce (we fantasize about the duck pancakes!), extensive craft beer and wine selection, and has a rep for serving up one of the best breakfasts in town. Pretty sweet, right? They also happen to have a totally enviable corner-side location that looks more NYC bistro than ’sleepy’ Brissy café, and gets the perfect arvo/evening sun, but who are they to boast?

So it totally makes sense that Bitter Suite’s weekly Sunday sessions  are the place to settle in for a lazy afternoon in the sunshine. Kick back on one of the kerbside tables or the comfy corner sofa, soak up the rays and watch the world go by (your four-legged friends are welcome to join in on the action too!). We recommend the cheese and meat platters, for those of you just wanting to graze, but it’s the $12 pizzas (served between 3pm-6pm) that steal our hearts every time Sunday rolls around.

Bitter Suite has aced the relaxed pub-come-bistro vibe that us Brisbanites flip a lid for, so don’t dilly dally; get your arse down there this weekend, before your table gets stolen by the regulars in the know!
