The latest addition to the Brisbane market calendar is landing this weekend, and we just had to let you know! Sandwiched between inner suburban bustle and the wilderness of the Enoggera reserve, Gap residents can often be left out of the Brisbane market scene. Thankfully, the cool kids from the Gap Residents' Association (GAPRA) have orchestrated a completely corker not-for-profit farmer's market mere ambling distance for locals, The Gap Farmer's Market.
The market kicks off at 6.30am this Sunday with a bountiful variety of moreish offerings. Fabulously fresh produce direct from the grower, wild-caught fish and prawns, and a whole host of artisan wares to keep your fancy. Let's not forget that as a not-for-profit, all proceeds go direct to the grower! Take that middleman!
And breakfast? They've thought of everything. We'll start with the usual suspects; fresh bagels, pastries, coffee and smoothies, but save room for a few welcome additions; Taiwanese omelettes and breakfast burritos for a start.
While you're chomping, soak up some culture with some live music or cooking demonstrations, and maybe nab some samples and giveaways. Whatever your taste, the opening festivities of The Gap Farmer's Market are not to be missed.
So get some cash out, alert the rooster, and we'll meet you there for what promises to be an exuberant Sunday first.
