Gone are the days when all you could make from paper was a humble plane, boat or hat.
When it comes to couture, paper is the new frontier and Brisbane’s best designers are turning their considerable skills to this versatile material for an edgy and inspiring Brisbane fashion event this November.
The Recreate Twilight Markets and Paper Fashion Show will take over King George Square for one night on 13 November between 4pm to 9pm with a giant runway featuring custom-made designs by a collection of Brisbane’s best fashion designers.
Celebrating National Recycling Week in the most stylish way, Brisbane designers George Wu, Maiocchi, Darb Bridal Couture, House of Cards, VIHN, Roux May, Alice Nightingale, I Make You Wear It, NICO Underwear and the students from the Australian Institute of Creative Design (AICD) have created special designs, which will all be on show at Recreate.
Check out all the designs, grab a bite from your favourite food trucks, get involved with free paper craft activities and browse the handmade artisan wares at the BrisStyle Market stalls.
No outdoor market or festival would be the same without some live tunes; some of Brisbane’s best young musicians will be jamming all night. Look for The QUBE Effect bands, Golden Age of Ballooning, Holly Terrens and Quintessential Doll between catwalk shows.
