Bowen Hills Just Scored A Slick New French Bakery Slash Wine Bar

In the past few years, Bowen Hills’ King Street has become a bustling boulevarde of places to eat, drink and raise hell. Everyone from sushi rollers to burger flippers to chicken fryers has come to lay roots in the upcoming precinct; it even caught the eye of Brisbane stalwart Montrachet when it came time for them to find new digs. Along with their famed French bistro, Montrachet also set up an adjacent bakery operation, Montrachet Boulangerie.

Six months on, with the unprecedented success of Montrachet's new location, it has meant a need to expand their current footprint, effectively leaving their beloved boulangerie in need of a new home.

Enter, King Street Bakery.

Keen to flex their pastry skills under a new name and a brand new location along King Street, King Street Bakery's brand-new fitout will feature all of your favourite daily breads with artisan brioches, baguettes, and sourdough loaves for sale as well as Viennoiseries and a bunch of other traditional pastry treats and morning jump juice. All of this in a temperature-controlled room that keeps the butter at a perfect chill—even during Brisbane’s muggy summers. (This means perfectly crisp croissants all year round and no soggy bottoms.)

King Street Bakery will also offer some a la carte, Parisian-inspired dine-in options for breakfast and lunch, including a neat wine list if you want to stick around. We need no excuse to enjoy the spoils of our city—you know what to do...
