Have you been to Caxton Street lately? No? Well, newsflash, it’s cool now—and home to some of Brisbane’s best bars.
A kewl café by day—serving up Louie Louie Roastery beans, roasted onsite, plus delish brekky, lunch, and dinner—when the sun sets Thursday to Sunday, Hops Scotch and Beans kicks on like the hip-kid it is come night time.
As the name suggests, beer and whiskey is HSB’s forte but the creatively designed cocktail menu (whiskey cocktails for the win!) makes for tantalizing reading, and even better drinking.
Our pick is the classic Manhattan, straight outta the five boroughs.
Of course, a killer bar menu is essential if you want to rate yourself among Brisbane’s best bars, so naturally, Hops Scotch and Beans nails that too.
Each week, there are different food and drink specials (how good does wings + a schooner for $12 sound?), Sunday sessions like the party Project 150 on 22nd of March, which celebrates the fact that HSB only stocks beer from within 150km of Brisbane.
We can’t really tell you about good bars on Caxton Street without mentioning the football (this is Queensland, after all), and if you are fan of the rugby but still enjoy the finer things in life, then Hops Scotch and Beans is your jam for pre-game drinks, with plenty of specials on game nights.
Whatever floats your boat, we reckon there’s no doubt that this Hops Scotch and Beans is one Brisbane bar for the hit list.
