Calling all fans of music and extraordinary performance value; Washington, the patron saint of modern pop herself, is popping up a secret show at Blute’s Bar tonight at 11.30pm. All other plans are now officially off.
This exciting one-off performance is part of the Mountain Goat Valley Crawl Festival, and promises to showcase Washington’s brand new work including ‘Claws’ (which she filmed the video for at The Calile on James Street), a meditation on the paper-thin divide between danger and desire, and her latest single ‘American Spirit’, inspired by Stormy Daniels, Peg Entwhistle, and Norma Jean. If you’re even a mild fan of Washington’s stuff you’ll know her as a force of nature, so you’d better get yourself to Blute’s Bar tonight and experience something real.
Of course, this show is all thanks to the Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, which transforms the Valley into a multi-venue urban music festival for one day only. Fifty-one bands, including RAAVE Tapes, IV League, will be playing across ten of the Valley’s best live music stages (you can check out the full list of acts and locations on the events page).
Entry to the festival is completely free, so to catch Washington at Blute's simply get yourself a festival wristband and stake out a place at the front.
