We want YOU to have a cracking 4th of July, so make like Will Smith and celebrate Independence Day in style at these red, white, and blue events at some of Brisbane’s best American restaurants and bars.

Sonny’s House of Blues

Brisbane CBD

Get your butt to Sonny’s for red, white and blue Sailor Jerry slushies, chicken wings, a hot dog eating contest, plus PBRs and Young Henrys lager pouring as this basement bar lights up for the 4th of July. With Bruce Springsteen power tunes and Frank Sultana & The Sinister Kids making a racket from 8:30pm, expect bad behaviour. It is the land of the free, after all.

Fortitude Valley

Fortitude Valley’s dive-iest dive bar, Greaser, is teaming up with Ol Garage and throwing a 4th of July Tailgate party. Taking over the Greaser laneway, with pop-up tap beer and BBQ vendors, rock’n’roll, and the best greasy American eats, this is one Brisbane 4th of July event you’ll want to hit up.

Miss Kay’s

Brisbane CBD

What’s more patriotic than burgers, beer pong, and Mo-town, tunes? Miss Kay’s are throwing a doozy of an Independence Day bash this 4th of July in Brisbane. Tickets are on sale now for two-hour food and drinks package, including unlimited sliders, so you can sit back and enjoy the fun.

Mighty Mighty

Fortitude Valley

Tuck into the best of the USA at Mighty Mighty with their Independence Day feast. This three-course ode to America includes gumbo, beef short rib, meatloaf, Waldorf salad, warm apple pie, and other delights, and is a must for every American chow die-hard.

Buffalo Bar

Brisbane CBD

Festival of The Free at Buffalo Bar promises to be a knee-slapper of a shin dig, with American fare and booze on hand, live entertainment, competitions, and more fun than you can poke a crawfish at. Kicking off at lunch and going til late.

Brooklyn Standard

Brisbane CBD

Doors open from 8pm for live Americana tunes this 4th of July at Brooklyn Standard—a basement bar straight outta Brooklyn, where the pretzels will make you thirsty and the epic drinks list will sort you out. Make sure you sneak in a cheeky snack or two from the NYC hot dog van in the laneway.

Red Hook

Brisbane CBD

American bar and eatery, Red Hook, is taking their menu next level for the 4th of July, with a very special Patriot burger on the menu, complete with red, white and blue sauce. Special meal deals will have you saying “super-size me!” like a true American—the fun kicks off from 4pm.
