Gelato Icon, La Macelleria Is Opening On King Street

La Macelleria is on a mission to have a store in every major borough, and King Street is next on their radar. The past year has seen Bowen Hills’ burgeoning precinct really coming into its own, welcoming dining institutions like Montrachet onto the scene, as well as the luxury food retailer Mercado and iconic Melbourne-founded food truck venue Welcome to Bowen Hills. Now they can add one of Brisbane’s best gelaterias to their list of tenants.

Already in West End, Coorparoo, and Teneriffe, La Macelleria has been steadily expanding since they opened their first store in 2014. This widespread popularity and fervent appreciation is all thanks to their commitment to the traditional Bolognese style of gelato-making, which yields the creamiest, most delicious gelato this side of the Adriatic Sea.

The sorbets are seasonal, and every week they feature a couple of experimental flavours, but La Macelleria is not trying to reinvent the wheel. Their standard selection features classic Italian flavours like hazelnut, pistacchio, vanilla, and the most decadent 80% dark chocolate you’ll ever taste, and they’re bringing it all to King Street.

Come down and visit La Macelleria at their spot on King Street and help them christen the new digs with a double scoop.
