Music on a Monday | Oliver Tank & Oisima at Black Bear Lodge

By Adam Gerrard
17th Jun 2013

Oliver Tank is bringing his ambient electronic RnB back to Brisbane and, this time, Adelaide's brightest jazz-beat producer, Oisima is his partner in smooth beat-laden crime.

Both artists are in town to launch their respective new singles at intimate Valley venue, Black Bear Lodge

Oliver Tank   stunned audiences around the world with the beauty of his debut EP, Dreams. Since its release in 2011 he has played festivals and headline shows in the UK, sold out shows around Australia, and supported Active Child, Bonobo, and Lana Del Rey (to name a few) on their Australian tours.

Early this year he took a break from music, but, just recently, he has announced that his much-anticipated second EP, Slow Motion Music will be released in the second half of 2013.

Oisima creates jazzy hip-hop beats with sampled vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments—think producers like Four Tet, Bibio, Oddisee, and Bonobo and you'd be on the right track. He's already had Triple J's weekly artist spotlight and his debut EP, Dusk Til Dawn released on Berlin label, Herbede Records plus support slots for Oddisee, Mux Mool, Tokimonsta, and many more.

You can stream both his EPs for free from his bandcamp. I highly recommend the second half of the Goddess EP (Hardtime Delight is my favourite track).

This will be his first Queensland show, and with plans to release his debut LP towards the end of the year this won't be the last time you hear from him.

Make sure you take this opportunity to see two of Australia's best up-and-coming producers before they become the next Flume!
