We love our laneways as much as any Melburnian, and one of the cutest in town is Brisbane's Bakery Lane: an oasis of chill smack bang in the middle of the Valley. With all manner of delicious eating covered - from brownies, to vegan, to dumplings - not to mention great shopping, we're sold on the delights of Bakery Lane.
Offering modern Australian cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, newly-opened The APO, is open for lunch and dinner 7 days of the week. They do a mean cocktail so enjoy a drink or two here before heading out for a night in the Val. We love some of the more interesting menu items: chicken liver parfaits or nitrogen parfait? Yes please!
I Heart Brownies

Nestled in Bakery Lane, Lost Boys is a pretty unique café offering organic, vegetarian and carbon neutral fare to their Fortitude Valley fans. Their amazing breakys have the health conscious rejoicing. Vego or not, one meal at this place and you will be converted.
If you’re after a quick bite to eat, The Kiosk, dishes up incredible Asian-inspired takeaway or pick a spot in the courtyard to sit and savour every mouthful.
For a classy night on the cocktails, be sure to visit Bakery Lane favourite, Laruche, where the talented bartenders will always serve your espresso with a side of martini.
The Tree House
The name really says it all; you pretty much step into a magical faraway land when you visit The Tree House. Pouring organic beer and ciders and serving up organic and vegetarian tapas, the Tree House is a great place to stop by for after work drinks or to start your night out right.
