It’s official: Walk For Awareness is back for another year, and we can’t wait to throw on our runners. The walk coincides with national Mental Health Week and works to break down mental health stigma, raise awareness and, contribute to the funding of vital mental health programs. All of which are epic causes, so get involved! Team TUL will be there flying the flag. It’s Australia’s largest dedicated mental health walk; take part to help break the silence on mental illness
So how can you help? It’s easy, we promise. Just register for the walk and take part on Sunday October 9. Anyone can join, there are no age limits or fitness restrictions. Plus, pets are more welcome too, so bring along your four-legged friends, why don’t you? Register here.
The day kicks off with an inspiring opening ceremony that honours those that have been lost to depression and offers support to any continuing the battle. Then, it’s all action as the 8km walk kicks off. The walk winds through various stunning Brisbane vistas and ends as you cross the Story Bridge to a cheering crowd, live music and BBQ.
The goal this year is to raise $150,000 so make sure you get on board and do your bit for mental health.
