We love a café that impresses with its simplicity. New Farm café, The Gettin’ Place is a new Brisbane café getting it right.
The Gettin’ Place has made its home in a tiny character building on James Street, just a few blocks from the strip’s main dining precinct, and it’s well worth the stroll.
Owners Carmela and Bo Stahlman are dishing up tasty and simple breakfast and lunch staples, like fresh ricotta, honeycomb, and flaked almonds on toast, smashed avo’ with coriander and sesame, and a fresh cherry tomato bruschetta.
The menu’s beautifully presented, and surprisingly affordable.
Toby’s Estate coffee, smoothies, cold-pressed juice, and teas round out the drinks list.
The Gettin' Place welcome pets and children with equal enthusiasm here, lending the café a casual and inviting feel. It’s the kind of place you’d pop in for breakfast and end up staying all morning.
A courtyard out the back and potted plants on the front stoop only add to this new Brisbane café’s cutesy appeal.
The Gettin’ Place is open 7 days a week from 6:30am.
