The Best Places To Get Breakfast In The CBD

By Phoebe Lee - 19 Jul 2016

If you love breakfast, but find you only get to treat yourself at local cafes on weekends, you’re going to love what happens next… Working in the CBD doesn’t mean you have to hang out for Sunday morning to get your breaky feast on. It turns out the CBD is bursting with amazing options for all Brisbane breakfast lovers and we’ve pulled together some of the best for you to enjoy.

Riverbar & Kitchen

Breakfast tastes better with million dollar views, especially when that breakfast comes from Riverbar. Get stuck into their polenta fritters served with pancetta, mushroom, kale and tomato salsa.

Miss Kay’s

The rumours are true, Miss Kay’s has a breakfast menu and it’s pretty epic. Get your hands on their epic big breaky burger of beef patty, bacon, hash brown, egg, cheese and relish or try their fried chicken and waffles, sure to tackle any lingering hangover from the weekend.

Botero

Take a trip to Botero on Creek Street for exceptional coffee and fantastic breaky options. Try the gingerbread hotcakes or their amazing crushed green peas and broad beans on sourdough with a gooey poached egg, mint, preserved lemon and za’atar.

Felix for Goodness

Felix for Goodness is a hidden gem that offers up the perfect all-day breakfast menu, including shakshuka baked eggs served with yoghurt, herb salad and sourdough and everyone’s favourite, boiled eggs and soldiers!

Strauss

You’ll find Strauss down the end of the lane off Elizabeth Street, serving up fantastic coffee and a delicious, simple menu of tasty bites. Try their mixed grain bircher or their perfect poached eggs on sourdough.

Gramercy Coffee

You’re doing well if you can visit Gramercy and not leave with armfuls of sweet treats straight out of the cabinet. Focus on their breaky menu first and get stuck into their house baked beans or delightful breakfast brioche with jamon, haloumi, avocado, egg and tomato relish.

Brew

The guys at Brew keep their breakfast menu stacked with crowd favourites, like bubble and squeak served with oozy poached eggs and hollandaise. Also worth a try is their fantastic bircher, served with pink lady apple and raspberry jelly, coconut, cranberries and pepitas.

Kitchen Sanitarium

Kitchen Sanitarium do not make it easy to choose just one delicious thing to try from their menu, but their sweet corn fritters and Kitchen baked beans are both pretty legendary.

Kiss The Berry

For a healthy breakfast on the run, stop in at Kiss The Berry on Creek Street. Get your paws on one of their amazing, seasonal acai bowls, like panna cotta and rhubarb or berrytime madness.

Bagel Boys

You'll find Bagel Boys on Adelaide Street serving fresh bagels, baked daily. Noms. Choose your bagel base from options like sunflower and rye, blueberry or poppy then top it with good things like cream cheese, butter, avocado and so much more!

Pando Cafe

Pop into Pando for all your CBD breakfast needs, including blueberry and cacao pancakes, smashed avo and ‘The Happy Pig,’ of Kingaroy bacon served with eggs, a sweet potato rosti and perfect sourdough.

Collective Kitchen

Collective Kitchen does pretty much every breakfast you could think of, which makes choosing something near impossible. We're obsessed with their iteration of eggs benny and the hot cakes though, because of course we can't pick just one.
